Meet Elizabeth McCall, a dedicated licensed practical nurse (LPN) in our Greenville market!
She has been an integral part of our ministry for six years. Her unwavering commitment to patient care, continuous learning and professional growth sets her apart as a role model for our fellow team members.
Elizabeth’s role as a float pool nurse in the ambulatory care setting allows her to interact with a diverse range of patients. She thrives on the variety of experiences this position offers, from assisting in routine check-ups to handling urgent cases.
“I enjoy getting to interact with a wide variety of patients,” Elizabeth shares. “It keeps me on my toes and challenges me to adapt quickly.”
Elizabeth’s passion for nursing began at a young age, and she knew that stopping at LPN was not enough.
“I have wanted to be a nurse since I was little,” she says. “I love learning and growing; I am always looking for ways to improve myself.”
Her decision to further her education and career was driven by this desire to expand her knowledge and skills. Currently pursuing her BSN through Herzing University, Elizabeth is utilizing our ministry’s education benefits program to complete her degree.
At Bon Secours, we are proud to give all our team members access to education programs that are designed to empower career growth.
We offer up to 100 percent tuition-free education for priority clinical programs to help them pursue their health care callings and career.
So far, Elizabeth says her experience with Herzing University has been exceptional. Despite the demands of her work and family life, she has found the online RN to BSN program to be flexible and accommodating.
“While there are deadlines, it is extremely flexible,” Elizabeth explains. “I am still able to work and be present with my family while obtaining my RN, BSN.”
Herzing’s program has allowed her to pursue her educational goals while still accommodating her other responsibilities. And when asked about advice for associates contemplating further education, Elizabeth emphasizes the importance of long-term career goals.
“Consider how further education would help you achieve those goals,” she advises. “For me, the flexibility of an online RN, BSN program has allowed me to work towards those goals, be active in my family life and work part-time. I think every associate considering going back to school should do the same and choose what works best for them and their lifestyle.”
