Congratulations are in order for Albert Attia, medical director of radiation oncology at Bon Secours St. Francis Cancer Center in Greenville, SC. He received his second COVID-19 vaccine shot on February 5. Read his firsthand thoughts about the process here.

I ultimately decided to get my COVID-19 vaccine to help prevent me from spreading this virus to my patients, family and friends. If we want to get back to living a pre-pandemic life, a lot of people are going to need to get vaccinated. COVID-19 has been devastating for so many people in lots of different ways, so I’m happy to do my part.

I so appreciate Bon Secours for such a seamless vaccination process. In the clinic it was a very smooth experience. With my first shot, I didn’t have any side effects. In fact, the worst part was ripping off the bandage afterwards.

I’m hopeful that by sharing my experience that other people will feel more comfortable about getting vaccinated for COVID-19. Please, please consider getting your vaccine when your opportunity to do so comes.
