We are honored to have 71 Bon Secours doctors receive the recognition of Virginia’s Top Doctors by Virginia Business Magazine. This inaugural peer-to-peer survey recognizes Virginia doctors who demonstrate excellence in their fields across 60 different medical specialties.
In addition to peer selection, the editors of Virginia Business Magazine chose to highlight representatives from 15 medical specialties. Two of our physicians were chosen, including Dena K. Krishnan, DO from our Hampton Roads market and William J. Irvin, Jr., MD from our Richmond market. These profiles provided insight into the professional and personal lives of these esteemed physicians.
Dr. Krishnan’s specialty is cardiology with a special interest in cardio-oncology. She is most excited about advancements in technology for cardiology and the options for noninvasive and minimally invasive treatments. Dr. Krishnan also notes the differences being made in women’s lives as they are more aware of their unique signs and symptoms of heart disease.
Dr. Irvin specializes in oncology. He is most excited about the continued development of antibody-drug conjugates to treat breast cancer. These new therapies have fewer side effects and lessen treatment time. Dr. Irvin acknowledges that more progress is needed and that it will continue with two new FDA-approved medications.
