Do you live in the Richmond, VA area? Are you suffering from prediabetes, have a family history of Type 2 diabetes or a history of gestational diabetes?

Consider registering for Prevent T2, our ministry’s diabetes prevention program. Prevent T2 is a 12-month, lifestyle change program that is proven to prevent or delay Type 2 diabetes. Evidence shows that a structured lifestyle change program can cut the risk of developing Type 2 diabetes by 58%, and by 71% for people over the age of 60.

“This program has saved me from becoming another diabetes statistic,” one of our participants shares.

“I contribute being able to lower my A1C from 6.1 to 5.5 to this program. My new commitments include changing my eating behavior and moving for 50 minutes every day,” says another.

How does the Prevent T2 Program work?

The Prevent T2 Program is a Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) recognized program. It’s goal is to help our patients and community members prevent or delay the onset of Type 2 diabetes. Our Prevent T2 program follows the CDC curriculum and offers cooking demonstrations, access to fresh produce as well as physical activity. Best of all, this program is provided virtually and is free!

Once you register for the program, you will participate in weekly classes that are available Monday evenings or Tuesday afternoons. These classes are led by a certified CDC Lifestyle Coach. People with prediabetes (have a BMI greater than 24), as well as those with a family history of Type 2 diabetes or a history of gestational diabetes all qualify for this program.
